CRISTALLISATION of an API can be performed using supercritical CO₂ as solvent (RESS Process) or as an antisolvant ( SAS Process).

These processes lead to fine powder with a narrow size distribution. It can also be used in co-process with excipients to obtain composite particles.

The different goals usually searched are :

• The obtention of a specific polymorph
• Micronisation of particles below 1µm
• Enhancement of API's specific surface area
• Obtention of dry particle (RESS Process)
• Particle design for special administration form
