The Supercritical Fluids Division of Pierre Fabre laboratories is located in Gaillac (Tarn, France) on the « Plantes et Industrie » site: an FDA approved production plant.
We have developed an expertise in supercritical fluids technology for pharmaceutical applications, in particular in DDS (Drug Delivery System).
The supercritical fluids processes are solvent free (only pressurised CO2), performed usually at low temperature with a short reaction time. We have already performed process scale-up, economic evaluation and regulatory aspect (reproducibility and stability).
Our team operates 2 workshops of 150 m2 each; one dedicated to development and the other to production. We can work with toxic molecules, from grams to several tens of kilograms.
The Supercritical Fluids Division has been set up to be ICHQ7A, GMP and BPF (Bonnes Pratiques de Fabrication) compliant. Since 2005, we are recognized as Pharmaceutical establishment by French Health Autorities (Last inspection : June 2008).
